Dysphasia
Stroke, neurological disorder, head trauma or brain tumors and other causes may damage the brain's language areas, resulting in loss of ability to speak. In some cases, patients' understanding, listening, writing or computing capability are also affected.
Music Facilitated Speech Training (MFST) (Trainer Certificate Programme)
Music Facilitated Speech Training is used for treating Dysphasia patients. Treatment aims include facilitating patient's speech re-learning and increasing patient’s ability in the communication of needs and feelings.
On completion of the training, MFST Trainer should be able to:
- differentiate different types of Music Therapy.
- identify suitable candidate for Music Facilitated Speech Training
- implement Music Facilitated Speech Training independently
- interact with Dysphasic Patients efficiently enough to give patients a positive experience in human interaction and re-learning to speak.
- through providing the Training, improve patient’s ability in communication of needs and feelings.
MFST Trainer Candidates
No music knowledge is required. Suitable for candidate in social welfare sector and education sector and those who provide service for/ is interested in serving the patients with Dysphasia. You can apply the workshop by filling in Online Application Form
